About Us
Pune West CPE Study Circle is a Study Circle
formed under the aegis of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
(“ICAI”). The primary objective of the study circle is to conduct
Continuing Programs of Education (CPE) and to facilitate discussions
between the members of the ICAI on various technical and non-technical
aspects relevant to the profession.
The study circle organizes monthly meetings of the members and invites
eminent and experienced people from different walks of life to share their
knowledge, experiences and build an environment for constructive
discussions and debates.
The study circle started with 25 members in August 2005 and in a span of
three years the membership has grown almost 20 fold, making “Pune West”
(as is popularly referred to) the fastest growing study circle in the
Western Region of ICAI. The current strength of the study circle is over
450 members.
The study circle received the “Highly Commendable Study Circle Award” of
WIRC for the year 2006 and the “Best Study Circle – Outside Mumbai
category” of WIRC for the year 2007 as well as for the year 2008.
In December 2008, the Study Circle hosted a Mega Conference which was
attended by over 400 members, making it one of the largest event organized
by any study circle in WIRC. Over the last four years, apart from the
monthly meetings, the study circle has organized mega events, too.
Further, even for the monthly meetings, there is always an attempt to have
discussions on diverse topics. For instance, some of the topics covered
